Job Description:

Manufacturing Engineer | Permanent | £40,000 per annum

Cherry Professional is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our client's team. As a key member of the production team, you will be responsible for driving strategic continuous improvement of manufacturing processes throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Process Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of local manufacturing processes.
  2. Production Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of production processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, and waste management to identify areas for improvement.
  3. Initiative Ownership: Take ownership of initiatives across the Manufacturing Excellence Initiative (RT4ME) to ensure achievement of ME Maturity Assessment targets.
  4. Strategic Improvement Projects: Lead projects from conception to completion, delivering a seamless change experience for internal customers.
  5. Collaboration and Communication: Participate in local cell and production meetings as needed, and ensure a clear understanding of internal and external customers' expectations.
  6. Process Compliance: Ensure that company processes, layout, systems, and tools are used properly and consistently to maximize manufacturing efficiency.
  7. Capex Proposal Development: Develop proposals based on project outputs to drive business growth.
  8. Best Practices Adoption: Utilize group and globally recognized Manufacturing Excellence techniques to drive continuous improvement.
  9. Compliance and Awareness: Ensure awareness of and compliance to company policies and procedures according to your agreed scope of work.
Ideal Candidate:
  1. Education: HNC/HND, or equivalent level in an engineering discipline, desirable.
  2. Improvement Process Management: Proven experience in improvement process management.
  3. Local Process Expertise: Strong knowledge of manufacturing production and processes.
  4. Customer Relationship Building: Experience of building strong internal and external customer relationships.
  5. Decision Making and Problem Solving: Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  6. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.
  7. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
