We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist / Principal Scientist to join our team at Nicholas Associates in Cambridgeshire. As a key member of our research and development programme, you will play a crucial role in devising new materials for use in renewable energy, sustainability, and energy storage.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular dynamics and molecular modelling techniques, with a degree-level qualification and a PhD in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Experience in polymer membrane synthesis and knowledge of various simulation methods, including molecular dynamics, density functional theory, and Monte Carlo simulations, are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize molecular modelling techniques to identify root causes of issues and recommend corrective action
- Develop and implement new materials for use in renewable energy, sustainability, and energy storage
- Collaborate with the research team to advance our understanding of polymer materials and their applications
Requirements:
- Experience of molecular dynamics and molecular modelling techniques
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant field
- PhD in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- Knowledge of polymer membrane synthesis
- Fluent written and spoken English
