We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join our team at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology. The successful candidate will have a strong background in protein biochemistry and experience in structural biology and single molecule methods.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research aimed at understanding the molecular mechanisms of DNA repair involving FANCD2-FANCI.
- Identify, develop, and apply a broad range of techniques to pursue the research objectives.
- Present scientific work at seminars within the laboratory and at external meetings.
- Contribute to laboratory-wide discussions on developments within the field.
- Draft scientific papers and contribute to the overall preparation of research for publication.
- Contribute to the LMB's mission in the public engagement of science and the translation of research findings into improvements in healthcare.
- Assist in the training of PhD students and other members of the LMB.
- PhD in a relevant subject or due to complete PhD within 3 months.
- Experience of and ability to perform techniques relevant to the project, particularly structural biology or single molecule methods.
- Track record of research, including experience of working collaboratively and training others.
