Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Scientist to join our team at the Medical Research Council. The successful candidate will have a strong background in a relevant subject and excellent experimental skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of the project within a three-year lifespan, working closely with the Group Leader and other team members.
  • Plan and manage your own work and objectives on a 12-month basis, ensuring effective use of resources and training of others.
  • Identify, develop, and apply new techniques to achieve project goals, with limited supervision.
  • Introduce and apply new techniques across a wide range of disciplines, demonstrating creativity and initiative.
  • Ensure research is carried out in accordance with good practice and local policies.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the group, including resource management and training.
  • Enhance research and generic skills through a tailored development programme.
Working Relationships

You will report to Dr Michel Goedert and interact with other Postdoctoral Scientists, Research Support staff, and students within the LMB and external groups as necessary.

Additional Information

This is a three-year training and development position for a Postdoctoral Scientist who has recently completed their doctoral studies or is moving into a new research discipline. We offer a range of formal and on-the-job training, including MRC training courses, external training, and one-to-one training with your Supervisor and other Scientists.

You will commit to developing and following a personal development plan, attending training courses, and identifying additional training to support your career development.
