We are looking for a Lead Therapeutic Support Specialist to join our team at a 6-Bed Residential Home dedicated to supporting young individuals aged 5-18. The position offers a competitive salary ranging from £24,000 to £26,000 annually, along with a Company Pension Scheme, Study Support, and Bonus.

We are in search of a dedicated Lead Therapeutic Support Specialist to help us fulfill this mission in our small residential home.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee shifts and mentor junior staff members.
  • Regularly undertake assigned management responsibilities.
  • Address the emotional needs of young individuals.
  • Plan and engage in suitable activities for residents.
  • Perform personal care and household tasks, including laundry, meal preparation, and shopping.
  • Transport young individuals to appointments and activities.
  • Assist young individuals in developing life skills, key competencies, and independence both at home and in the community.
  • Support young individuals in accordance with their personal development plans and organizational policies.
  • Conduct weekly key worker sessions with assigned young individuals, documenting and sharing these sessions with them.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a similar capacity, ideally supporting young individuals.
  • Possess a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People Workforce or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Exhibit a compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.
  • Show strong motivational, management, and leadership capabilities to foster a cohesive team of Residential Support Workers.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of child care legislation, children's home regulations, and quality standards.
  • Have experience working with young individuals exhibiting challenging behaviors.
  • Possess the ability to empathize with young individuals and a commitment to high standards of child care, striving for the best outcomes for those in your care.
