Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to join our client in the Northeast. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the manager in the management, coordination, and development of therapeutic services for young people in a 3-bed residential home.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist the manager in ensuring the home exceeds all standards as stated in the Childrens Home Regulations 2015
- Promote relationships as central to the working practice of the home
- Provide effective, empathetic, and dynamic leadership and coordinate the staff team to ensure the implementation of company policies and procedures
- Be involved in reflective practice to ensure team members and those around the child are reflective of their work
- Identify those who may need support and implement support to ensure the team's effectiveness
- Be responsible for quality inductions for staff team members and devote time and effort to ensure they feel effective and confident in their roles
- Organize and implement a robust therapeutic training package for every staff member and hold each person accountable for their role in the therapeutic support model
- Ensure the paperwork in the home is accurate, reflective, and evidences the progress the children make within the home
- Ensure all Health and Safety Regulations are followed in accordance with policies, procedures, and practices
- Promote and implement the company's policies and procedures, ensuring they are attachment-based and trauma-informed
Requirements:
- Experience in Residential Childrens Social Care with a minimum of one year's experience, ideally as a senior support worker
- Understanding of Trauma Informed Care and therapeutic background
- Strong leadership and effective communication skills with a nurturing side and strong interpersonal skills
- Hold a Level 3 NVQ diploma in Residential Childcare
- Clean UK Driving License and DBS
- Confidence and understanding of The Childrens Home Regulations and all legislation associated with the running of a registered Childrens Home
- Ability to challenge, guide, and mentor
- Strength of character to deal with challenging situations in a non-consequential and nurturing way, with the confidence to set appropriate boundaries and implement the community's policies and procedures
