Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in cost management, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Delivery: The Senior Cost Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Client Relationships: The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that their needs are met.
  • Cost Management Strategy: The Senior Cost Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing cost management strategies that meet the needs of the project and the client.
  • Process Improvement: The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying areas for process improvement and implementing changes that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the project.
  • Reporting and Communication: The Senior Cost Manager will be responsible for producing regular reports and communicating effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Change Management: The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, tracking, and reporting on changes to the project scope, schedule, or budget.
  • Risk Management: The Senior Cost Manager will be responsible for identifying and mitigating risks associated with the project.
  • Procurement: The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the supply chain to implement effective procurement strategies.
  • Team Management: The Senior Cost Manager will be responsible for managing a team of sub-consultants and construction managers.
  • Meetings and Communication: The successful candidate will be responsible for attending and chairing meetings with clients, contractors, and designers.
Requirements
  • Experience: The successful candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in cost management, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Skills: The Senior Cost Manager will possess excellent verbal, numerical, and report-writing skills, as well as excellent people skills and communication skills.
  • Commercial Awareness: The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial principles and be able to negotiate effectively.
  • Flexibility: The Senior Cost Manager will be able to work flexibly and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Project Management: The successful candidate will have experience of managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Large Project Delivery: The Senior Cost Manager will have experience of delivering large projects, with a budget of up to £100m.
  • JCT and NEC Experience: The successful candidate will have experience of working with JCT and NEC contracts.
  • BTR Experience: The Senior Cost Manager will have experience of working in the Build-to-Rent sector.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Experience: The successful candidate will have experience of working in a multi-disciplinary organization.
  • New Business Development: The Senior Cost Manager will have experience of assisting in the development of new business opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Cross-Selling: The successful candidate will have experience of identifying and acting upon cross-selling opportunities.
  • Microsoft Office: The Senior Cost Manager will be proficient in Microsoft Office.
