Role Overview

In collaboration with the broader Learning and Development Team, the Early Careers and Apprenticeship Specialist will oversee comprehensive support for all apprentice technicians within Marshall Motor Group. This includes induction processes, wellbeing initiatives, pastoral care, and academic guidance, ensuring their success and delivering an exceptional experience. The role focuses on enhancing technicians' skills, fulfilling their Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements, and providing additional assistance as necessary. Furthermore, the specialist will aid current employees in pursuing professional growth in both technical and non-technical areas.

Candidate Profile

  • In-depth understanding of government-funded apprenticeship programs and standards, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proficient in managing external relationships, serving as the primary contact for external providers, OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), and liaising with the recruitment team and apprentices.
  • Experienced in organizing learning events, whether virtual or in-person, for assessment and development, including content creation.
  • A creative problem solver with a focus on solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize the apprentice levy and manage government-funded schemes for apprentices, advocating for development opportunities.
  • Design and implement a range of apprenticeship programs across the organization, collaborating closely with various divisions and providers.
  • Assist with annual Assessment Centres, conduct inductions for new apprentices, and facilitate training workshops as needed.
  • Conduct regular evaluations with apprentices, host engagement sessions, including awards ceremonies and National Apprenticeship Week celebrations.
  • Oversee the administration of the apprenticeship levy, including monthly management information reporting.
  • Establish a pipeline of new apprentices by engaging with local educational institutions and participating in outreach events.
