Job Overview

The Manchester College is seeking to appoint an Apprenticeship Innovation Ambassador Coordinator on a full-time basis.

This position is supported by Innovate UK as part of the Greater Manchester Further Education Innovation initiative.

The primary aim of the Apprenticeship Innovation Ambassador Coordinator is to empower apprentices engaged with local enterprises by providing them with the knowledge and confidence necessary to foster innovative practices within their organizations, enabling them to serve as 'Apprentice Innovation Ambassadors'.

Key Responsibilities:

Communication and Promotion:

Articulate the importance and benefits of the Innovation Literacy training to apprentices, employers, and colleagues involved in apprenticeship delivery through various communication channels. Create promotional materials and strategies to enhance the visibility of the program within the college and among external stakeholders.

Facilitation and Coordination:

Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of the Innovation Literacy training program. Organize workshops, seminars, and other educational sessions focused on innovation literacy for apprentices. Work alongside other Apprenticeship Innovation Ambassadors across the Greater Manchester Boroughs, aligning with the objectives of the Greater Manchester Further Education Innovation Programme and its funding bodies.

Training Delivery:

Supervise the implementation of the Innovation Literacy training curriculum, ensuring it meets program objectives and standards. Offer support and guidance to apprentices participating in the training initiative.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

Track the progress of apprentices enrolled in the Innovation Literacy training program against the objectives set by the Greater Manchester Further Education Innovation Programme. Prepare performance and impact reports for the host College and the funding bodies as required. Assess the effectiveness of the training on apprentices' skills, knowledge, and behaviors. Gather feedback from apprentices, employers, and other stakeholders to continuously enhance the training program.

Celebrating Achievements:

Acknowledge and celebrate the accomplishments of apprentices completing the Innovation Literacy training program. Organize events or initiatives to highlight the program's impact on apprentices and small to medium enterprises. Willingness to travel occasionally and work evenings or weekends as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

Level 4 qualification or relevant experience. Proficiency in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above. Valid driving license and ability to travel regularly within the borough and occasionally across Greater Manchester. Experience in coordinating training programs or educational initiatives, preferably in the apprenticeship sector. Proven experience working with businesses to identify training opportunities, promote growth, and enhance productivity through innovation. Familiarity with apprentices and their development. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market trends effectively. Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with a talent for inspiring creativity and collaboration. Knowledge of digital tools and technologies relevant to education, training, and business innovation. A commitment to driving positive change and nurturing a culture of innovation within the business community. Experience managing multiple stakeholders from diverse sectors. Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the role. Ability to multitask and monitor project performance. Strong interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and influencing various stakeholders. Adaptability to changing priorities and requirements. Creative problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with social media analytics and engagement strategies. Networking and relationship-building skills. Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Proficiency in technology platforms for event management and community engagement. Exceptional organizational and project management skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
