Position Overview:

The Environmental and Sustainability Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that Kilnbridge adheres to environmental regulations and sustainability practices across all projects. This position requires a proactive approach to environmental management and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Oversight: Identify and report environmental issues to senior management that do not meet statutory, company, or client standards.
  • Project Coordination: Ensure that each contract or project is equipped with the necessary procedures to comply with environmental and sustainability requirements.
  • Site Liaison: Collaborate with project and site managers to establish effective environmental and sustainability protocols.
  • Client Engagement: Work closely with client representatives to ensure adherence to their environmental requirements.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct regular inspections and reviews to monitor compliance and prepare reports as needed.
  • Audit Management: Perform formal audits of environmental and sustainability management systems, including those of subcontractors, throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Documentation Input: Contribute to project documentation, ensuring it is reviewed and updated as necessary.
  • Proactive Support: Support project management teams with a constructive approach to environmental and sustainability challenges.
  • Legislative Awareness: Stay informed about relevant environmental legislation affecting company operations.
  • Promotion of Sustainability: Actively advocate for environmental and sustainability initiatives within the organization.
  • Deputy Responsibilities: Step in for the Head of Sustainability when required.
  • Advisory Role: Provide guidance on the adequacy of environmental and sustainability plans and documents.
  • Planning Input: Offer environmental and sustainability insights during the planning of work activities.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all statutory notifications are managed effectively.
  • Training Delivery: Conduct site-based training on environmental and sustainability practices.
  • Awareness Campaigns: Develop and implement campaigns to raise awareness of environmental and sustainability issues within the business.
  • Training Oversight: Monitor the training and toolbox talks provided by project and site managers.
  • Status Reporting: Provide regular updates on the status of environmental and sustainability compliance for each project.
  • Sustainability Agenda Support: Assist in the implementation of Kilnbridge's sustainability initiatives.
  • Energy Efficiency Initiatives: Identify opportunities for energy savings and renewable energy generation within the Group's portfolio.
  • Resource Efficiency Promotion: Integrate best practices into business processes to enhance resource efficiency.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Contribute to the development and execution of sustainability initiatives, focusing on carbon reduction, circular economy, and responsible sourcing.
  • Impact Assessment: Help calculate and track the financial impact of sustainability interventions.
