About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join our team at Winsearch. As a leading recruitment agency, we specialize in placing professionals in Engineering & Manufacturing, Food & Drinks, Pharmaceutical, Supply Chain & Procurement, and Professional Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective health, safety, and environmental management systems to ensure compliance with government regulations and industry best practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments, including COSHH, and implement control measures to mitigate hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Lead scenario training and emergency drills to ensure employees are prepared for emergency situations.
  • Manage and maintain the site's environmental permit, including reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement environmental strategies and performance metrics to drive improvement.
  • Coordinate and lead the site safety committee activities to ensure a collaborative approach to health, safety, and environmental management.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, emergency services, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Act as Fire Officer for the site, ensuring fire risk assessments are up to date and necessary control measures are implemented.
  • Manage the site's COSHH Assessment process, including carrying out assessments and implementing control measures.
Requirements
  • NEBOSH Level 3 certificate and IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, including COMAH and 45001/14001.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and engage employees.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
