Railway Operations Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ground Staff to join our team at Colas Rail UK. As a Ground Staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of freight trains on the Doncaster to Newcastle LNE line.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare freight trains for service, ensuring they are correctly loaded and secured.
- Facilitate train movements, including coupling and uncoupling wagons and locomotives.
- Conduct technical examinations of rolling stock to ensure compliance with railway industry standards.
- Assist train drivers with brake continuity testing and complete train documentation as required.
- Operate ground frames and hand points to facilitate train movements.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance and servicing staff to ensure the smooth operation of trains.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols and report any incidents or near-misses.
- Personal Track Safety certification.
- Rules and Regulations competence.
- Freight Train Operations, Loading, and Rolling Stock Examination knowledge.
