The RoleWe're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Railway Operations Manager to join our team at the York Rail Operating Centre. As a key member of our control centre team, you'll be responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the railway, ensuring safe and efficient movement of trains and passengers.
Your key objectives will include:
- Leading and managing a team of operations staff to deliver safe and efficient railway operations
- Developing and implementing operational strategies to improve performance and customer satisfaction
- Collaborating with stakeholders, including train operators and freight companies, to ensure smooth and efficient railway operations
- Managing and mitigating risks to ensure safe and reliable railway operations
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Extensive experience in railway operations, with a strong understanding of rail infrastructure and operations
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks
