Plant Equipment Technician

Position Overview:

As a key member of a regional Plant and Construction organization, you will take on the role of a Plant Service Engineer / Fitter, primarily based in the workshop. Your responsibilities will also include attending various sites to conduct repairs on equipment as necessary. A background in engineering with experience on a diverse range of Mechanical Plant equipment, such as Excavators, Dumpers, and Telehandlers, is highly desirable. Familiarity with smaller machinery and the maintenance of a modern fleet will be advantageous.

Core Responsibilities:

In the capacity of a Service Engineer / Fitter, your duties will encompass:

  • Conducting Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI), servicing, and repairing plant hire equipment
  • Responding to site requests for equipment repairs
  • Collaborating effectively within a small team environment
  • Meeting and exceeding workshop performance targets
  • Maintaining composure and efficiency under pressure
  • Adhering to Health & Safety regulations in line with HSE and company standards

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Service Engineer / Fitter position will possess:

  • Prior experience in roles such as Service Engineer, Mobile Service Engineer, Plant Fitter, or Tool Fitter
  • A solid background in the Plant Hire sector
  • A methodical approach to problem-solving
  • The ability to work independently without supervision
  • A valid and clean driving license
