We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Residential Children's Worker. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for children and young people aged 7-17.

About the Role:

  • Support two children in a loving home environment, working closely with a team of 6 colleagues.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children and young people, helping them to manage complex trauma and develop essential life skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a warm and homely atmosphere, promoting a sense of belonging and security for our young people.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with children and young people, understanding their individual needs and providing tailored support.
  • Contribute to the development of a trauma-informed practice, ensuring that our approach is sensitive to the needs of our young people.

Requirements:

  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Organised and confident in interactions with children and young people.
  • Previous experience of autism, SEN, trauma-informed practices, therapeutic caring, and connective parenting is desirable, although full training will be provided.
  • Kind, caring, patient, resilient, and able to see the need behind behaviours.
  • Commitment to improving the life chances of children and young people and sharing our ethos of never giving up.
  • NVQ3/Diploma in caring for children and young people or willingness to work towards this qualification within two years.
