Children 1st: Child Advocacy and Trauma Support Specialist

Be a catalyst for change in the lives of child victims and witnesses in Scotland.


In collaboration with various authorities across Scotland, Children 1st is pioneering a Bairns Hoose initiative modeled after the European Barnahus framework.

This framework provides a child-centric, multidisciplinary, and interagency approach to justice, care, and recovery for children who have experienced violence.

Our aim is to create a unified space where Police, Social Work, Health, and Court services operate collaboratively. Children will benefit from a coordinated, trauma-informed strategy that supports their journey through care, protection, and justice systems.

The primary objectives of this model include preventing re-traumatization due to fragmented investigations and court processes, ensuring child safety, facilitating access to equitable justice, and aiding recovery from trauma.

Compensation and Benefits
