We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Professional Development Officer to join our team at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). As a key member of our North England Membership area, you will play a crucial role in promoting and advancing civil engineering in the Yorkshire & Humber region.
Key Responsibilities- Membership Growth: Develop and implement strategies to increase membership in the Yorkshire & Humber region, working closely with the Membership Manager and other Membership Development Officers.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue business opportunities to support the growth of civil engineering in the region, including partnerships with employers, educational institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Membership Support: Provide expert advice and guidance to members and non-members on civil engineering-related matters, including professional development and career opportunities.
- Employer Support: Work with employers to promote professional development and provide guidance on how to support the growth of civil engineering in the region.
- Education and Training: Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to support the professional development of civil engineers in the region.
- ICE Approved Employers and Mentor Supported Programs: Oversee the operation of ICE Approved Employers and mentor supported programs in the Yorkshire & Humber region.
- Education: Degree-level qualification or equivalent in a relevant field, such as civil engineering, customer service, learning and development, or a related subject.
- Experience: Proven experience in business development, membership growth, and professional development, preferably in a civil engineering or related field.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior members of the engineering and education professions.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience working with databases.
- Competitive Salary: £38,850 FTE PA, plus car allowance.
- Benefits Package: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, shutdown over Christmas period, pro-rated car allowance, annual £100 allowance towards wellbeing, up to eight per cent of salary contributed to a personal pension scheme, 24-hour employee support line, death in service benefit equivalent to one year's salary, interest-free season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme, and Big Gym membership savings with the GymFlex scheme.
