Defects Manager - Residential Portfolio

Falmouth Fairfax is seeking a skilled Defects Manager to join our Residential Portfolio team in Reading. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing serious defects across our single-family PRS portfolio, overseeing development partners' aftercare teams, and coordinating with consultant teams during the defect rectification period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate defect rectification activities across the residential portfolio
  • Oversee development partners' aftercare teams to ensure timely and effective defect resolution
  • Collaborate with consultant teams to identify and prioritize defect rectification
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including property management, consultants, facilities, operational teams, project, and asset managers
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in construction or surveying, such as HND or NVQ
  • Experience in residential projects, snagging, and small project work
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders
  • Knowledge of JCT contracts, building regulations (CDM), and health and safety
  • Methodical approach and attention to detail
