Key Responsibilities

As the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for leading initiatives in the following areas:

HR Operational Excellence – equipping the on-site HR team with the necessary resources to deliver outstanding service while ensuring support from senior management as needed. Talent Acquisition and Development – collaborating with management to implement learning and development strategies, recruitment processes, and succession planning to ensure a resilient workforce and promote the growth of team members. Employee Relations – engaging with trade union representatives and leadership teams to maintain a positive employee relations environment that supports the organization’s operational goals. Compensation and Benefits – partnering with the central rewards team to ensure equitable application of compensation strategies and managing local review processes to assist line managers in applying fair practices.

Ideal Candidate Profile

This position is ideal for someone who is genuinely passionate about people. You should possess a proven track record of delivering high-quality HR generalist support, with a strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices. Experience in fostering collaborative relationships with trade unions is essential, along with a demonstrated history of leading change management initiatives.

You will hold a CIPD qualification and have extensive experience in operational HR, preferably within a complex industrial setting. With a diverse range of stakeholders, you will need exceptional communication and relationship management skills, demonstrating confidence in coaching and challenging senior leaders to achieve successful outcomes.

Security Clearance Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which typically requires residency in the UK for at least three of the last five years.
