Key Responsibilities

As the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the following areas:

HR Operational Excellence – equipping the on-site HR team with the necessary resources to deliver outstanding service and ensuring support from senior management as needed. Talent Acquisition and Development – assisting the management team in planning and executing learning and development, recruitment, and succession strategies to maintain resilience within the workforce, while also fostering the growth and advancement of team members. Employee Relations – collaborating with trade union representatives, central support, and leadership teams to cultivate a positive and proactive employee relations environment, enabling the organization to meet its operational goals. Compensation Strategy – partnering with the central compensation team to ensure equitable application of policies and managing local review processes to assist line managers in applying fair practices.

Ideal Candidate Profile

This position is ideal for an individual who is passionate about people management. You should possess a proven track record of delivering high-quality HR generalist support, with a strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices. Experience in fostering collaborative relationships with trade unions is crucial, along with demonstrated involvement in change management initiatives.

You will hold a CIPD qualification and have substantial experience in operational HR, preferably within a complex industrial setting. With a diverse range of stakeholders, excellent communication and relationship-building skills are necessary, as you will be expected to coach and challenge senior leaders, influencing decisions to achieve favorable outcomes.

Security Vetting Requirement
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which typically requires residency in the UK for at least three of the last five years.
