Exciting Opportunity: Senior Corporate Prospecting Business Development Specialist
NFU Mutual's commercial business development team is seeking a Senior Corporate Prospecting Business Development Specialist to contribute to achieving our ambitious growth target. This role offers the flexibility of working from home up to 80% of the time, either on a permanent basis or as a 12-month secondment.
About the Role
As a Senior Corporate Prospecting Business Development Specialist, you will play a key role in analyzing commercial business prospects and supporting partner Agents. You will act as a senior point of reference for technical queries, handling complex issues and providing feedback to ensure data accuracy. Additionally, you will lead short-term projects, monitor the work of the team, and provide upskilling to maintain high-quality standards.
You will assess corporate risks in alignment with underwriting guidelines, collaborating with various teams to support growth objectives. Your responsibilities will include gathering and analyzing business information, creating detailed customer research documents, and managing the prospect qualification process to generate opportunities for partner Agencies. Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders are crucial, ensuring consistency in risk assessment and compliance with technical requirements.
About You
We are seeking a professional with a strong background in Commercial Underwriting at NFU Mutual. A proactive mindset, ability to interpret data, and mentorship skills are essential qualities for this role. Effective communication and stakeholder management are key aspects of this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business development strategies to drive growth and revenue
- Lead cross-functional teams to analyze commercial business prospects and identify opportunities
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to assess corporate risks and ensure compliance with guidelines
- Provide technical guidance and support to partner Agents and internal teams
- Manage and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure consistency in risk assessment and compliance
