Purpose of the Senior Business Development Manager - Commercial Real Estate Lending Role:
- To develop and execute a sales strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives, focusing on commercial real estate lending opportunities.
- To maintain a deep understanding of the commercial real estate market, staying up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activity.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Business Development Manager - Commercial Real Estate Lending Role:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, intermediaries, and other stakeholders to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Work closely with the Regional Director to develop and implement a sales strategy for the region, aligning with the company's overall business plan.
- Identify and develop sales opportunities from new to company customers and brokers, generating compliant sales to achieve maximum profitability against sales targets.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Operations Team to effectively onboard and drawdown deals for new to company clients, ensuring all conditions for a loan are met.
- Establish and maintain effective communication links with all relevant departments to identify sales opportunities, increased areas of risk, or process improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales and annual review activity, preparing regular forecasts to enable effective forward planning.
- Encourage enrolment of new customers in customer satisfaction surveys to identify scope for improvements in product quality and service delivery.
- Maintain a high level of market awareness, monitoring the sales performance of competitors to ensure the company maintains and develops its competitive position.
- Support the development of sales and marketing literature and associated documents to improve the marketing of the company and its products and services.
- Support the continual development of the LSOs within the region's Relationship team, through ongoing coaching and training methods.
- Adhere to the company's brand and culture values, ensuring all accountabilities are undertaken in accordance with the company's policies and procedures, and good client outcomes form the basis of decisions made.
Requirements and Qualifications for the Senior Business Development Manager - Commercial Real Estate Lending Role:
- A proven record of success in business development and sales, preferably in a related industry.
- Experience in leading a team and developing individuals to maximise performance.
- An understanding of the relevant rules under the financial services acts.
- A high level of financial and commercial awareness, including credit analysis.
- Excellent sales and interpersonal skills.
- Impressive record of achieving targets.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent time management, planning, and organisational skills.
- An understanding of Conduct Risk and Consumer Duty requirements.
- An appropriate knowledge and experience of sales and marketing.
