Role Overview

SSE Enterprise is committed to advancing a sustainable electricity system through a comprehensive capital development initiative.

We are excited to announce a newly established position for a Contract Manager – Cost Control and Analysis within our Procurement and Commercial division. This role is pivotal in supporting the expansion of our operations and will play a crucial part in our Large Capital Delivery Directorate.

In this position, you will engage in commercial analysis for a significant array of projects within the Distribution sector, delivering data-driven insights and assessments to enhance commercial reporting.

Operating in a regulated environment, it is essential to oversee, manage, and report on all project-related costs. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Forecasting
  • Budgeting
  • Change Control
  • Cost Reporting
  • Accrual Generation

As the Contract Manager – Cost Control and Analysis, you will spearhead the coordination and execution of all cost management activities required by the Procurement and Commercial team.

You will collaborate closely with the Procurement & Commercial Manager and the Head of Procurement & Commercial to deliver exceptional procurement and commercial services to our internal stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills

To qualify for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A degree in a relevant business or technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven expertise in all facets of Cost Control, including Cost Forecasting, Budgeting, Change Control, Cost Reporting, Variance Analysis, and Accrual Generation, along with strong data analysis skills.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and communication abilities, with a capacity to engage and challenge various levels within the organization.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and innovative thinking to enhance cost management processes and methodologies.
  • A collaborative mindset, fostering strong relationships with both internal and external partners.
