Position Overview

We are currently seeking two part-time Patient Care Coordinators to join our welcoming team at The Beeches Medical Centre.

The practice operates during standard hours from Monday to Friday, and we have two distinct roles available:

Role 1: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday - Salary: £16,254.

Role 2: 1 PM on Monday, Thursday, and Friday - Salary: £15,956.

Both positions include a 30-minute paid lunch break.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to enroll in the NHS pension scheme.

Our practice is comprised of four female partners and a salaried GP. The role of Patient Care Coordinator is essential in guiding patients to the appropriate services that meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities

As a Patient Care Coordinator, your primary duties will include:

  • Assisting physicians by relaying important information regarding our patient base of 8,400 individuals.
  • Handling incoming calls, accurately documenting information, processing prescriptions, and scheduling appointments.
  • Directing patients to local services as needed.

About Our Team

The administrative team includes a practice manager, an organizational manager, two administrative staff members, eight reception staff/care coordinators, and a secretary.

The clinical team consists of five GPs, one advanced nurse practitioner, two practice nurses, one nurse associate, and one GP assistant.

  • Capability to manage phone calls from patients, district nurses, and other healthcare professionals while conveying precise information to colleagues and clinical staff.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming patients in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Directing patients to other services when appropriate.
  • Scheduling appointments both via phone and in person.
  • Entering data into patient records using the EMIS clinical system and performing scanning tasks.
  • Processing repeat prescriptions after receiving training.
  • Utilizing practice email and intranet while adhering to strict guidelines.
  • Assisting with the opening and closing of the surgery.
  • Complying with all health and safety protocols.
  • Participating in training sessions as required to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Restocking supplies in clinician rooms and printers.
  • Being adaptable to perform additional administrative duties as requested.
  • Submitting holiday requests in a timely manner to facilitate efficient rota planning.
  • Communicating effectively with practice management, colleagues, and patients in a precise and courteous manner.
  • Adhering to all practice policies consistently.
  • Undergoing a DBS check.
  • Maintaining respect for patients in all interactions, both face-to-face and over the phone.
