Financial Accountant

Location: Flexible Hybrid Work Arrangement

Employment Type: Part-time (Schedule to be determined with the selected candidate)

The Financial Accountant is essential in overseeing the financial functions of our global recruitment organization. This position encompasses standard accounting duties such as generating financial statements, managing ledger entries, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supervising accounts payable and receivable. Furthermore, the Financial Accountant will handle the calculation and distribution of commissions for our recruitment consultants and research personnel, guaranteeing precise and prompt payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and uphold precise financial documentation and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analyses.
  • Manage and reconcile the general ledger effectively.
  • Calculate and allocate shared costs across various group entities.
  • Oversee and execute accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, coordinating with external accountants as necessary.
  • Reconcile transactions within the banking and financial systems, assigning them to the appropriate group entity.
  • Develop cash flow forecasts and budgets with input from senior management as needed.
  • Prepare payroll data for payroll service providers and secure approval from senior management.
  • Calculate and manage commissions for recruitment consultants based on individual performance metrics and company policies.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely disbursement of commissions and bonuses.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of commission structures, calculations, advances, and payouts.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to management for informed decision-making.
  • Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations.
  • Establish necessary financial processes and ensure adherence to financial controls.
  • Stay informed about relevant finance and tax legislation and regulations.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize financial processes and systems.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses and special projects as required. Perform any other reasonable tasks as requested by senior management.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent prestigious qualification.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., CIMA, ACA).
  • A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in financial accounting, ideally within the recruitment or staffing sector.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
  • Advanced skills in Excel and experience with financial modeling.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
