About the Role

The Sleights and Sandsend Medical Practice is seeking a highly organized and communicative individual to join our team as a Receptionist. As a key member of our front-of-house team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system to ensure efficient scheduling and minimize waiting times.
  • Process personal, telephone, and e-requests for appointments, ensuring accurate and timely communication with patients.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with callers' requests appropriately, providing a warm and welcoming experience for patients.
  • Signpost patients to the correct service, ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance.
  • Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members, and external agencies, maintaining effective communication channels.
  • Read and enter code data on our electronic medical records system (EMIS).
  • Photocopy documentation as required, maintaining accurate and secure records.
  • Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information, ensuring up-to-date records.
  • Input data into patients' healthcare records as necessary, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.
  • Direct requests for information, such as SARs, insurance/solicitors letters, and DVLA forms, to the administrative team.
  • Manage all queries efficiently, including EMIS tasks and emails, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Complete and log the daily fridge temperature and monthly data logging on TeamNet, maintaining accurate records.
  • Carry out system searches as requested, ensuring accurate and timely information.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and effective working area at all times, adhering to our high standards of patient care.
  • Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards, ensuring a welcoming and informative environment.
  • Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested, providing a collaborative and supportive team environment.
