Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Medical Receptionist to join our team at Sleights and Sandsend Medical Practice. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.

Main Responsibilities

Key duties include:

  • Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
  • Processing personal, telephone, and e-requests for appointments
  • Answering incoming phone calls, transferring calls, or dealing with callers' requests appropriately
  • Signposting patients to the correct service
  • Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, team members, and external agencies
  • Reading code data on EMIS
  • Photocopying documentation as required
  • Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
  • Inputting data into patients' healthcare records as necessary
  • Directing requests for information SAR, insurance/solicitors letters, and DVLA forms to the administrative team
  • Managing all queries as necessary in an efficient manner, including EMIS tasks and emails
  • Completing and logging the daily fridge temperature and monthly data logging on TeamNet
  • Carrying out system searches as requested
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
  • Monitoring and maintaining the reception area and notice boards
  • Supporting all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
