About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the recovery of income following non-payment of invoices. You will utilize your excellent technical knowledge and proactive approach to improve income collection and reduce debt owed to the authority. You will build strong relationships with individuals while assisting with in-depth queries in a professional, diplomatic, and supportive manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a front-facing role for all individuals approaching the Financial Assessment & Income Unit, handling high volumes of contact with the public promptly and sensitively using a customer-focused approach.
  • Work to agreed targets to recover monies owed to the authority as a result of non-payment of invoices.
  • Accurately and efficiently communicate with debtors and authorized third parties to ensure payment of monies owing.
  • Negotiate and agree installment plans to maximize income collection for the authority.
  • Process, maintain, and monitor financial records.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educated to a minimum of GCSE level 4 in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to take a methodical and analytical approach.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Confident telephone manner.
  • Ability to deliver in a target-led environment, prioritize, and work to deadlines.
