Job Summary

Baker McKenzie Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Lawyer with expertise in Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and Private Equity (PE) to join our team as a Content Development Lawyer.

This is a 12-month contract position that will involve managing and executing legal content development projects and Knowledge initiatives for our practice and industry groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Content Development: Draft, develop, and automate precedents and other legal content to support our lawyers and clients.
  • Knowledge Management: Keep abreast of key developments and provide regular updates on industry trends and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work with other practice groups and industry groups to provide holistic legal, commercial, and industry know-how.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and leverage firm resources to produce training materials and courses efficiently.
  • Client-Facing Initiatives: Provide legal input into client-facing initiatives and coordinate their delivery as required.
  • Project Management: Identify and lead content development Knowledge projects and initiatives as relevant and aligned with our Knowledge services and strategy.
  • Expertise: Maintain legal expertise in the role holder's primary area(s) of practice and support such other practice areas as required.
  • Policy and Best Practice: Collaborate with the Senior Manager for Content Development and other Knowledge Specialists to ensure the creation, collection, and maintenance of Knowledge content follows policy and best practice.
  • Training and Guidance: Provide legal training and guidance to Content Development Paralegals and Analysts as required.
  • Technology and Tools: Develop a comprehensive understanding of Knowledge systems, services, and other legal technology and tools.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience as a practising lawyer preferably with company law experience (M&A / PE).
  • Knowledge Management: Experience as a Professional Support Lawyer/Knowledge Lawyer with a sound understanding of Knowledge Management within a law firm environment is preferable.
  • Language Skills: Excellent English language skills (verbal and written).
  • Communication Skills: Good coaching, counselling, business acumen, and overall communication skills.
  • Technology Skills: Experience in or willingness to learn document automation and other legal technology.
