About the Role

The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Estates Maintenance Worker to join our team. As an Estates Maintenance Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings, plant, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out repairs, minor planned installations, and maintenance work on a wide range of equipment, services, buildings, and plant.
  • Assist maintenance craftsmen and technicians as necessary.
  • Utilize Estates documentation to ensure effective and economic issue of spares/materials from Estates Stores.
  • Ensure all works comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and all current legislation and/or guidance.
  • Work within the Departments evolving ISO9001: 2000 Quality System framework.

Person Specification

  • Ability to use a range of tools and equipment.
  • Experience of building services/engineering environment.
  • Conversant with health and safety issues within a workshop environment.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

  • Understanding of ISO9001:2000 or equivalent quality system.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Estates staff and ward/department staff.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to plan work and priorities.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to work independently.
