About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Chief People Officer to join our team at Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our People Directorate, you will play a pivotal role in driving forward our People Strategy in line with the NHS People Plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the HR Business Partnering service, Employee Transactional HR services, and other workforce systems, ensuring seamless delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  • Strategically lead the transactional and operational services within the People Directorate, driving service transformation and culture change.
  • Deputise for the Chief People Officer as required, providing leadership and guidance to the team.
Requirements
  • Comparable previous experience to Masters qualification in Human Resources Management, Organisational and Workforce Development, or Education and Training.
  • Relevant professional qualification in Human Resources Management, Organisational and Workforce Development.
  • MCIPD qualified.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience leading significant people programmes of transformational / complex change.
  • Management of complex employee relations cases.
  • Experience in health and/or education sectors, gaining HR/workforce/education development/medical staffing experience.
  • Service / quality improvement experience.

  • Ability to develop and deliver strategy at an organisational and Departmental level.

  • Highly developed communication and negotiation skills.
