Job Summary

Headway is seeking a qualified and experienced Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis. As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to young people with challenging behavior in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized care and support to young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to create a safe and nurturing environment that encourages young people to reach their full potential.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans, ensuring that the needs of each young person are met.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in residential childcare.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins, to ensure that the needs of the young people are met.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with young people with challenging behavior, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Qualification in Children and Young People (QCF level) or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with young people, families, and other professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Computer skills to an intermediate level, with experience of using software to record and maintain accurate records.
  • Full manual driving license.
