Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Headway Adolescent Resources. As a key member of our residential homes, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people with challenging behavior.

Job Summary:

This is a permanent role with excellent career prospects and a comprehensive training program. You will work on a days on and days off shift pattern with sleep-ins, and be eligible for generous allowances for bank holidays, overtime hours, and a performance-related bonus scheme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with young people with challenging behavior in a residential setting
  • Provide a high standard of childcare to help young people achieve the best possible outcomes
  • Be flexible, resilient, honest, and well-organized
  • Work on average hours per week, with days on and days off shift pattern and sleep-ins
  • Be eligible for generous allowances for bank holidays, overtime hours, and a performance-related bonus scheme
Requirements:
  • Previous experience of working with challenging young people, preferably in a residential setting
  • Qualified to QCF level in Children and Young People, or willing to work towards the qualification which will be fully funded
  • Be capable of working on their own initiative to a high level of accuracy, maintain clear, neat records
  • Have good inter-personal skills, and be a positive team player
  • Computer experience to an intermediate level
  • The ability to complete daily records to meet statutory and policy requirements
  • Empathetic nature
  • Have good oral and written communication skills in a variety of contexts
  • The ability to engage, motivate and encourage young people
  • Full manual driving license essential
