KYN HURLINGHAM is our second facility, designed to offer a 32-bedroom residence that ensures each resident enjoys a stylish and comfortable living space, along with communal areas for dining and relaxation. We are also developing two additional care homes in the region.

About the Role

As a BANK Nights Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Nurse and Household Care Lead in delivering top-notch, person-centered care to residents, while upholding their dignity, respect, and overall well-being.
  • Understanding personal care planning and taking charge of all aspects of care, including infection control and moving and handling training.
  • Ensuring that residents receive the highest standard of individualized care and attention.
  • Upholding residents' dignity, privacy, and respect at all times.
  • Encouraging residents' independence and honoring their choices and preferences as outlined in their care plans.
  • Assisting residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and toileting, tailored to their individual capabilities and needs.
  • Performing minor medical duties, which may encompass oral care, skin care (application of topical creams), catheter care, and end-of-life care.
  • Collaborating with your team to meet the medical, physical, social, and emotional needs of our residents.
  • Utilizing medical equipment, including hoists, commodes, profiling beds, and slide sheets.
  • Creating a nurturing atmosphere where residents and their families feel loved, happy, safe, and secure.
  • Encouraging residents to participate in decisions regarding their care to enhance their quality of life.
  • Understanding personal care planning, including recognizing signs of infections and assisting with incontinence.
  • Supporting residents during mealtimes, especially those needing assistance.
  • Encouraging participation in recreational activities to provide physical and mental stimulation.
  • Mentoring and supporting new and less experienced Household Carers.
  • Attending clinical supervision sessions as scheduled by the Registered Nurse.
  • Maintaining confidentiality regarding residents, visitors, and team members.
  • Actively participating in team meetings.
  • Issuing daily reports to the person in charge at the end of each shift regarding the care provided to your assigned residents, noting any changes.
  • Communicating any concerns raised while working with residents to the appropriate senior team member.
  • Welcoming new residents, team members, and visitors warmly and familiarizing them with the home.
  • Taking responsibility for all aspects of care, including infection control and moving and handling training.
  • Ensuring the health and safety of yourself, fellow team members, residents, and visitors in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Reporting any hazards or potential hazards to the person in charge or taking appropriate actions within your training and knowledge.
  • Attending all mandatory training sessions and any other relevant training.
  • Adhering to all KYN policies and procedures.

About You

  • Experience in a Health and Social Care setting.
  • Possession of NVQ/QCF Diploma Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care is preferred.
  • Patience and the ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Effective team player who fosters professional and trusting relationships with all team members.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to foresee potential issues.
  • Capability to resolve complaints and manage incidents effectively.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, kind, and caring nature.
  • Flexibility to meet work requirements.
