Position Overview

As a BANK Night Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the nursing staff and care leads in delivering exceptional, person-centered care while ensuring the dignity and well-being of our residents.
  • Understanding and implementing personal care plans, taking charge of all aspects of care including infection control and safe handling practices.
  • Providing individualized attention to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
  • Upholding the dignity, privacy, and respect of residents at all times.
  • Encouraging independence and respecting the choices of residents as outlined in their care plans.
  • Assisting residents with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, and toileting, according to their individual needs.
  • Performing minor medical tasks such as oral care, skin care, and supporting end-of-life care.
  • Collaborating with your team to meet the medical, physical, social, and emotional needs of residents.
  • Utilizing medical equipment safely and effectively.
  • Creating a nurturing environment where residents and their families feel secure and valued.
  • Engaging residents in decisions about their care to enhance their quality of life.
  • Recognizing signs of infection and assisting with incontinence care as necessary.
  • Supporting residents during mealtimes, especially those requiring assistance.
  • Encouraging participation in recreational activities to promote physical and mental well-being.
  • Mentoring and supporting new or less experienced care staff.
  • Participating in clinical supervision sessions as scheduled.
  • Maintaining confidentiality regarding all resident and team member information.
  • Actively engaging in team meetings and discussions.
  • Providing daily reports to the supervising staff regarding care delivered and any changes observed.
  • Communicating any concerns raised during shifts to the appropriate senior staff member.
  • Welcoming new residents, team members, and visitors, ensuring they feel at home.
  • Taking responsibility for health and safety in accordance with regulations.
  • Reporting any hazards or potential risks promptly.
  • Attending all required training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Adhering to all company policies and procedures.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in a health and social care environment is essential.
  • NVQ/QCF Diploma Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care is preferred.
  • Demonstrated patience and the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
  • Strong team player with the ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage complaints and incidents.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and kind demeanor.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying work requirements.
