Position Overview: Area Sales Manager - Agricultural and Equine Products

Job Location:

North of England - Covering the region from Yorkshire to Newcastle.
Combination of home and field-based work.

Role Responsibilities:

As the Area Sales Manager, you will be tasked with fostering relationships with both existing and prospective clients to expand the business and achieve set sales objectives while enhancing brand visibility.

Your responsibilities will include selling a diverse array of agricultural products tailored for the Agricultural and Equine sectors.

This role requires significant travel within your designated area.

Key Duties:

  • Manage sales of agricultural and equine products directly to merchants and select farmers, maintaining existing accounts while pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Achieve sales targets by identifying and capitalizing on new business prospects.
  • Utilize CRM software for daily activity tracking, project management, and market/customer data analysis.
  • Communicate market insights and customer feedback effectively to management.
  • Maintain a proactive and positive approach when handling orders and sales inquiries.
  • Assist in preparing sales reports, creating agendas for client meetings, and ensuring readiness for all customer interactions.
  • Update your CRM at the end of each day and strategically plan customer meetings.
  • Report on sales progress during weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings.
  • Support marketing initiatives to enhance brand recognition and business growth.
  • Participate in sales meetings, conferences, trade shows, and open days as required.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrated B2B field sales experience in a similar capacity within the agricultural or equine sectors.
  • A proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of the farming, agriculture, and equine industries.
  • Residing in the North of England.
  • Possession of a full clean driving license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in commercial marketing and merchandising.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Advanced negotiation and sales skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in IT (MS Platforms, CRM, ERP, etc.) and administrative tasks.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset.
