We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team at Ecclesiastical Insurance Group. As an Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in developing, negotiating, and profitably underwriting new and existing business within your authority and in line with our strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and negotiate new business opportunities within your authority and in line with our strategy
- Plan, prioritize, and manage your work to deliver agreed objectives and meet service level agreements (SLAs) to deliver exceptional customer service
- Use effective communication methods to support our right-first-time approach and maintain successful internal and external relationships
- Provide training and referral support to underwriting assistants and customer administration support colleagues
- Act on individual audit results and agreed action plans within agreed deadlines to improve your performance
- Understand and operate within regulatory frameworks and identify and escalate any risks to the business
- Identify and address complaints in line with company policy
- Improve the quality of underwriting and risk selection to support the delivery of financial objectives
- Expand your technical and niche knowledge through informal and formal training, networking, and industry press
- Qualified Cert CII or commitment to achieve within an agreed timescale
- Commercial underwriting experience in property and liability
- Market, industry, and company knowledge
- A proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service
- Appropriate IT skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
