Insurance Underwriter

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Junior Life Medical Underwriter to join our team at Legal & General. As a Junior Life Medical Underwriter, you will play a critical role in reviewing customer applications to identify risk factors and assess whether we can offer Life, Critical Illness Cover, and Income Protection applications.
Key Responsibilities:- Accurate Risk Assessment: Review customer applications to identify risk factors and assess whether we can offer Life, Critical Illness Cover, and Income Protection applications.
- Effective Communication: Ensure any requests for further information are appropriate and accurate, and commensurate with the risk being assessed, to ensure the customer journey is not impacted unnecessarily.
- Complaints Handling: Identify complaints and escalate to an authorized complaints handler to ensure they are acted upon quickly and root causes highlighted to ensure compliance with complaints response time limits.
- Legislative and Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain an excellent knowledge and understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Financial Underwriting: Have a thorough understanding of the risk factors for mortality and morbidity, as well as financial underwriting.
