About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Oxford Health NHS Trust. As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner - Early Intervention Specialist, you will play a key role in providing early intervention and support for young people experiencing emotional distress or emerging mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • To contribute to the development of evidence-based services and specialist programs for the care group, specifically in relation to delivering the in-reach program in schools.
  • To integrate the mental health agenda and community resilience within the schools identified per worker and within the remit of the CAMHS contract.
  • To deliver training, supervision, consultation, and support in schools to which the worker is the key link, and to develop a robust approach to building community resilience regarding mental wellbeing/early identification of mental health concerns.
Person Specification

Professional Qualification

Essential

  • Mental Health or equivalent professional health qualification - Occupational Therapist, Nurse, or Social Worker.

Desirable

  • Clinically relevant knowledge acquired through post-qualifying training.

Skills

Essential

  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding risk assessment.
  • Ability to organize own time and manage workload and that of junior staff/learners, in relation to service needs and priorities.

Desirable

  • Ability to work autonomously within the team.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with children and young people who have mental health difficulties.

Desirable

  • Post-qualification experience in a mental health setting, working with young people or adults with mental health difficulties.
  • Experience of facilitating group work/training.
