About Barnardo's Caern Disability Services

Barnardo's Caern Disability Services provides a range of high-quality services for young people with learning disabilities and/or autism. Our dedicated team supports up to three children and young people in a residential setting, working collaboratively with families and carers to achieve positive outcomes outlined in individual support plans.

About the Role

We are seeking As & When Residential Project Workers to join our team. You will work flexible shifts, covering gaps in our rota due to staff vacancies, holidays, or sickness absence. This role offers the flexibility to choose shifts that suit your needs.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to children and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
  • Implement individual support plans, ensuring a structured and consistent environment.
  • Manage challenging behaviors, including physical interventions, in a safe and supportive manner.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to maintain a positive and nurturing home environment.

About You

We are looking for individuals who have experience working directly with children and young people. Experience supporting those with learning disabilities and/or autism is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, time management abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality care are essential.

Registration Requirements

This role requires registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). You will be expected to work towards relevant professional qualifications within five years of registration. External grants may be available to assist with funding these qualifications.
