About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Child Care Worker to join our team at SuperCare Residential. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for vulnerable children and young people.

Main Responsibilities
  • Direct Work with Young People: Provide individualized support and care to young people, including key working and daily activities.
  • Collaboration and Partnership: Work closely with young people, their families, social workers, and other organizations to ensure their needs are met.
  • Care Planning and Review: Coordinate, monitor, and review care plans for young people transitioning to adulthood and greater independence.
  • Establishment Maintenance: Take responsibility for the upkeep of the establishment, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
  • Administrative and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and perform administrative tasks associated with key working responsibilities.
  • Empowering Young People: Support young people in taking responsibility for their lives, making informed decisions, and developing life skills.
  • Safeguarding: Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and report them effectively.
Household Responsibilities
  • Shared Responsibilities: Participate in practical activities to maintain the household, including caring for the environment and equipment.
  • Financial Management: Be accountable for allocated funds and report any necessary repairs.
Personal and Professional Development
  • Role Modeling: Act as a positive role model and guide for young people, setting principles and examples.
  • Professional Growth: Stay up-to-date with good practice, develop skills, and knowledge, and participate in regular professional supervision.
  • Reporting Concerns: Report any malpractice or concerns to a line manager or appropriate person.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience working with children and young people in an Ofsted-regulated environment.
  • Qualifications: Level 3 CYPW or above (or currently working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care).
  • DBS Check: Enhanced DBS Check and on the update service.
  • Driving Ability: Ability to drive.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, and flexibility to work at other properties as directed.
