Deputy Manager Job Description

SuperCare Residential is seeking a skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to lead the operations of a new residential children's home in South Norwood. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to oversee the existing staff and resources, ensuring the safety and well-being of young people and meeting the service's goals.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the Registered Manager in managing the service's workforce and resources.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of young people in our care.
  • Assist the manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose.
  • Deputize in the absence of the Registered Manager.
  • Support and manage staff to enable them to meet the needs of young people.
  • Undertake direct work with young people as appropriate.
  • Manage child protection concerns and complaints.
  • Work in partnership with other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for young people.
  • Ensure resources are allocated appropriately and financial records are accurately maintained.
Person Specification:
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • NVQ 3 / Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Residential experience.
  • Team building and supervision skills.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Understanding of the needs of young people who have experienced trauma, including managing challenging behaviors.
  • Good organizational skills.
