Job Title: Homelessness Triage

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Homelessness Triage Specialist to join our team at Adecco UK Limited.

About the Role:

This is a temporary role, initially for 3 months with the possibility of extension. As a Homelessness Triage Specialist, you will be responsible for providing an effective triage and duty service, conducting pre-assessments, and filtering services to provide advice and assistance to individuals in housing need or threatened with homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interview and assess homeless individuals on the day, making preliminary investigations and providing comprehensive advice on available options.
  • Conduct initial assessments to determine eligibility and homelessness, making initial enquiries into reasons to believe clients are eligible and homeless.
  • Filter and contact online housing options, providing advice and assistance to prevent homelessness.
  • Capture and process data on the Council's housing system, ensuring accurate and comprehensive case notes and records.
  • Ensure documents are scanned and labelled correctly and added to customer records.
Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended).
  • Knowledge of security of tenure, welfare benefits, and advice services, including Domestic Abuse services.
  • Experience of dealing with customers in person, telephone, and email, with a working knowledge of housing advice and homelessness.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a workload, and prioritize urgent cases.
  • Good communication skills, both written and orally, with experience of using IT applications.
