About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CDM Principal Designer to join our team at Building Design Partnership. As a key member of our design team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the compliance of our projects with the CDM Regulations 2015.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide CDM PD support and advice to our multi-disciplinary design teams and clients during the design and pre-construction stages of projects.
  • Lead the pre-construction phase, drive risk reduction, communication, cooperation, and coordinate the transition from design through to the construction phase.
  • Develop and deliver CDM training programs, workshops, and CPD events for designers within our London studio and across other BDP UK studios.
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines, plan, manage, and coordinate health and safety during the pre-construction stage.
Requirements
  • Experience within a similar position, demonstrating strong construction background, design knowledge, and familiarity with construction health and safety.
  • A thorough working knowledge and experience of the CDM 2015 Regulations, other health & safety regulations, and a good knowledge of design and construction-related activities and designers' duties gained from broad experience across a range of industry sectors.
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills and an interpersonal style that enables you to excel in a direct client-facing role.
  • The drive and ambition needed to develop the business, alongside loyalty and a willingness to actively contribute to the growth of the team.
