Position Overview
As a Caseworker Support Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to manage the processing of National Security Vetting applications during the advanced research phase. You will utilize various analytical tools to investigate and evaluate adverse information, pinpointing critical details and clearly articulating your assessments. Timely delivery of preliminary evaluations will be essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities
This position will often require you to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions while recognizing issues that necessitate escalation. You will frequently engage with clients across Government, addressing inquiries promptly and effectively.
The department is continuously seeking innovative methods to enhance and adapt operational processes. Therefore, flexibility in adapting to new situations and contributing to improvements is crucial. The successful candidate will be adept at managing a demanding workload while comprehending and adhering to established policies, procedures, and regulations. There may also be responsibilities related to Line Management.
Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure your success in this role.
Security Clearance Requirement
This position necessitates Developed Vetting Clearance, which can be a protracted process.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking individuals who possess the following skills and attributes:
- Proficiency in maintaining confidentiality while handling national security vetting matters.
- Experience working in an office setting, as remote work is not an option for this role.
- Demonstrated strong judgment, assessment, and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to draft clear and concise summaries and recommendations.
- Experience in fostering and maintaining effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- A background in research or analysis is advantageous but not mandatory.
Please note that candidates who do not meet the required standards for this position but are considered 'near misses' may be offered a role at the AO level within the team.
Additional Information
At least 60% of your working hours should be spent at your primary workplace, although attendance at other locations for official duties will also contribute to this requirement.
