About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Homicide Caseworker to join our team at Victim Support. As a Homicide Caseworker, you will play a pivotal role in supporting clients through the Criminal Justice System, providing a tailored package of support to meet their unique needs.

Working closely with the Major Crime Police Units, Senior Investigators, and Family Liaison Officers, you will be responsible for completing needs assessments, coordinating support, and delivering a high-quality service to our clients. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and practical help to clients affected by homicide and manslaughter
  • Work closely with police and other agencies to ensure a coordinated response to client needs
  • Complete needs assessments and develop tailored support plans
  • Coordinate and deliver support services, including counseling and advocacy
  • Work with clients to identify and achieve their goals and outcomes
Requirements
  • Understanding of the impact of crime on victims and their families
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
