Job Summary:

Burton Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join their expanding team in the FMCG sector. This role is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a background in purchasing or negotiation to contribute to the growth of a dynamic and supportive organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating the best prices and terms to ensure the company's procurement needs are met.
  • Data Management: Enter and manage data within the company's CRM system, collaborating with the sales team to ensure information is effectively shared and up-to-date.
  • Cost Optimisation: Negotiate rates with transport companies and explore options to reduce costs wherever possible, ensuring the company's procurement budget is utilised efficiently.
  • Relationship Building: Visit suppliers to establish and grow relationships, and attend industry events to source new suppliers and stay informed on market trends.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed on market prices to ensure products are sourced at competitive rates, and make recommendations to the procurement team to improve the company's procurement strategy.
  • Business Development: Engage in business development activities to identify new business opportunities and expand the company's procurement capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a procurement or purchasing role within the FMCG sector or a similar field involving negotiation and relationship-building.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel & Word, excellent communication skills, and strong time management.
  • Desirable Background: Experience in the meat, poultry, or pet food sectors is advantageous but not essential.
