Job Title: Senior Buyer

Job Description:

Barclay Meade is seeking a highly experienced Senior Buyer to join our team in Preston. As a Senior Buyer, you will play a key role in the procurement of indirect goods and services, working closely with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, and develop strategic procurement plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage a portfolio of indirect suppliers, including IT, corporate services, and professional services.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and improve supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address procurement-related risks and opportunities.
  • Lead supplier relationship management, contract change, escalations, risk management, and governance forums.
  • Support the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures.
  • Perform elements of operational procurement, including requisition and invoice approval.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in indirect procurement, with a strong understanding of IT, corporate services, and professional services.
  • Ability to travel to suppliers on a regular basis across the UK.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
