Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Connexzia. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operational procurement service across all areas of the Lancashire Procurement Cluster.

You will work closely with stakeholders to deliver projects and agreed service levels, and will be an excellent communicator with the ability to work positively with colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a busy, target-driven team and will be IT literate with well-developed skills in the use and application of information technology systems.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Processing requisitions for internal and external stakeholders onto the selected Procurement purchasing systems.
  • Dealing with reported discrepancies, shortages, and returns for internal and external stakeholders in a proactive but diplomatic manner.
  • Operating within the LPC Policies and Procedures and displaying a high standard of professional conduct with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Assisting and supporting other members of the procurement team in ensuring customer satisfaction with the service.
  • Providing cover for other members of the procurement team as and when required.
  • On occasion, this role may involve cross-site working or travel to other NHS external organisations for training or work purposes.
  • Any other duties within the general scope of the post and appropriate to the grading.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A good general standard of education including Mathematics and English Language GCSE Grade C/level 4 or equivalent.
  • Participation or willingness to participate in continuing development to improve and update knowledge.
  • Educated to level 4 foundation degree/HNC or NVQ level 4 in business/finance or relevant experience.
Desirable Criteria

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) Level 2, Level 3 or Level 4 qualification.
Experience

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with clients/stakeholders to deliver projects or agreed service levels, and will have experience working in a busy, target-driven team.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • IT literate with well-developed skills in the use and application of information technology systems.
