Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a Cancer Care Coordinator to become a vital member of our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working independently and will demonstrate strong interpersonal abilities, including outstanding communication, administrative, customer service, and organizational skills.

Your role will involve managing cancer pathways and facilitating the expedited diagnosis initiative, ensuring that patients receive timely correspondence regarding their diagnosis status. Additionally, you will provide support to the Multi-Disciplinary Meeting (MDM) coordinators, ensuring that MDMs are consistently managed. Main Responsibilities

As a Cancer Care Coordinator, you will:

  • Exhibit excellent communication, listening, and organizational skills.
  • Effectively organize and coordinate a variety of tasks within strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and take initiative in managing MDMs and ensuring compliance with cancer care protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Mathematics and English.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an administrative capacity.
  • Proficient in minute-taking and data entry with strong verbal, written, and numerical skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in data collection, particularly in clinical settings.
  • Familiarity with processes for initiating data collection.

Personal Attributes

Essential:

  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills.

Other Requirements

Essential:

  • Knowledge of National Cancer waiting time targets.
  • Adherence to the organization's Vision, Mission, and Values.
  • Ability to travel between various sites as necessary.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of cancer reform strategies and service data sets.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to cancer.
  • Knowledge of hospital systems, particularly Infoflex.
  • Understanding of Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT).
